"I Married My Father: Breaking the Cycle is my journey to self-discovery, to real happiness. I had lived my life for everyone else… trying to be the good wife, the best mother, daughter and friend. I’ve lived my life in service to others, never putting myself first. What this did for me is showed me that no one really cared for me in the way that I thought they should. Actually, they never could because it’s not their job to do so, before this journey, I thought it was my husband’s business, job to make me happy. I think that is the biggest misconception about relationships/marriages. Most go into these relationships with unrealistic expectations. This is my story, one of a woman who lost herself trying to be what everyone wanted, and losing myself in the process.
This book is my personal experience; it’s about how I found myself lost on a journey to nowhere. It wasn’t until I was willing to face the truth that I found myself entangled in an unhealed emotional cycle that left me on my knees. Don’t get me wrong, I had been there before… but this time, I had no more to give.
I will also say that this is my life through my eyes. There are always two sides to every story, this is mine."
